Potential Applications

  • Clear Bottle Detection Using Ultrasonic Sensors
Clear Bottle Detection Using Ultrasonic Sensors Clear object detection causes issues for traditional photoelectric sensors because the emitting light from the sensor has difficulty reflecting off the clear surface of the object. Ultrasonic sensors eliminate this issue by emitting a wave of sound that can be reflected or interrupted by almost any material. Each passing clear bottle will interrupt the sound wave resulting in an output being produced.
  • Washdown Area Protection
Washdown Area Protection Protecting the automation and electrical control systems from high pressure water and chemicals is a must to ensure the reliable operation of your production systems. Ramco can provide components, controls, and enclosure products that provide corrosion resistance and protection of your automation systems to ensure your productivity and competitiveness.
  • Tank Level Monitoring
Tank Level Monitoring The use of a long range ultrasonic sensor and wireless radio node monitor the level of problematic materials including clear liquids, hot slurry, and frozen ice cream.  Ultrasonic technology eliminates the need for reflective material for photoelectric light to bounce off of to detect the material, while wireless nodes add the ability to remotely monitor the levels in the tank.

Popular Products

We carry thousands of products from dozens of leading manufacturers. Here are some examples:

  • ABB ACS355
ABB ACS355 The ABB VFD Model ACS355 with option (+B063) for UL Type 4X (IP66) package is suitable for wash down environments. It is available in 2 Frame sizes (R1 & R3) and horsepower ranges from 0.5 – 5 HP @ 240V to 0.5 – 10HP @ 480V. The hygienic high protection class is for harsh environments where IP20 or IP54 are not adequate.  It is also tested & certified to IP69K.  The unit is designed for exposure to cleaning chemicals and corrosion resistant environments. The unit is NSF certified (National Sanitary Foundation) and is designed with no external fan and captive stainless hardware.
  • Banner iVu Image & Bar Code Reader (BCR) Sensors
Banner iVu Image & Bar Code Reader (BCR) Sensors Robust yet easy-to-use self-contained vision sensors perform automated inspections that previously required costly and complex vision systems.

  • Ross Stainless Steel L-O-X Valves
Ross Stainless Steel L-O-X Valves ROSS L-O-X valves are energy isolation valves and are generally used as the first valve in a line supplying compressed air to equipment. Air can be shut off by pushing the L-O-X handle inward; downstream air is simultaneously exhausted through the L-O-X exhaust port. Many standards & regulations, e.g., OSHA, require that the valve be padlocked in this position to prevent the handle from being pulled out inadvertently during maintenance and/or servicing.

    Product Features:
    • Corrosion-resistant 316 Stainless Steel construction
    • Reliable Fluorocarbon seals withstand contaminant ingression
    • Lockable only in the OFF position
    • Large exhaust port for rapid release of pressure
